Town of Essex Launches New Digital Platform for Property Tax and Utility Payments

Town of Essex Launches New Digital Platform for Property Tax and Utility Payments April 17, 2025

Essex – The Town of Essex is proud to announce the launch of myEssex, a platform that allows residents to easily manage and pay property taxes and water and wastewater bills online with a credit card. myEssex, in partnership with PayIt, provides residents with a convenient experience that can be accessed on web or mobile devices.

The launch of myEssex reflects the Town’s commitment to offering more user-friendly services so that all residents have a modern option to stay on top of important payments. In addition to managing and paying bills online, users can view their bills directly from the platform. Residents who are currently registered for e-billing will continue to receive their bills via email. This eliminates the need for in-person visits, giving residents a more efficient payment solution.

“Our goal with myEssex is to provide a service that meets the needs of our residents while improving overall accessibility and convenience,” said Mayor Sherry Bondy. “Whether it’s paying property taxes or water and wastewater bills, myEssex allows residents to take care of their obligations on their own time and from wherever they are.”

Residents can begin to make payments through myEssex beginning on April 16, 2025. A processing fee of $1.50 plus 2.35% for credit cards or $1.50 for EFT applies to all payments made through the myEssex portal.

The existing Virtual City Hall (VCH) platform on the Town of Esses website will be discontinued in mid-May, 2025. If you are a current user of VCH, we suggest you sign up and begin using myEssex prior to this date.

To start using myEssex, residents can visit my.essex.ca.
